Seaford Music Society continued its long tradition of promoting Professional Chamber Music with a 2019-2020 Season that would have consisted of five Chamber Concerts and a Family Concert.  Sadly, as a result of the COVID-19 Pandemic, the last of the Chamber Concerts had to be cancelled and the Family Concert has been postponed

Despite this set-back, the Society remains in a healthy financial state, ready to promote a new Season that will maintain the standards to which our Members and Supporters have become accustomed.  The Trustees have continued to monitor the situation, on a regular basis, with the objective of ensuring that our Concerts resume, as soon as this becomes legal, practical and safe.  To that end, the current plan is that a 2021-2022 Season will be announced, during the Spring of 2021, and that, in the meantime, there will be a number of additional Concerts, organised on an ad-hoc basis.  The second of these is scheduled for 24th January 2021:

SEBASTIAN COMBERTI AND MAGGIE COLE

Sebastian Comberti, Cello, and Maggie Cole, Piano, will play Beethoven's Cello Sonata Number 3 in A Major, Opus 69, and some of his Variations for Cello and Piano, Popper's Two Pieces for Cello and Piano, Opus 52, and Schumann's Five Pieces in Folk Style, Opus 102

The Concert will be held at Seaford Baptist Church at 3PM and will last just over an Hour.  If there is sufficient demand, it will be repeated at 6PM.  Doors will open twenty Minutes beforehand.  There will be NO Interval and NO Refreshments will be served

Strict COVID-19 Protection Measures will be in place:

Audience numbers will be limited to fifty

All members of the audience will be EXPECTED to use a face covering.  This is a requirement that has been set by Seaford Baptist Church.  To enable the Society to continue to hold Concerts, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and for the encouragement and protection of those who may still have doubts about the safety of attending, we ask EVERYONE to comply: supplies will be available, for anyone who has forgotten to bring one

All members of the audience will be REQUIRED to observe social distancing, at all times: there must be NO socialising with members of other households, either within the Church or around the entrance and exit routes

Tickets MUST have been purchased in advance: Tickets will NOT be available on the Door

If Seaford remains under Tier 4 COVID-19 Restrictions, the Concert will have to be re-scheduled.  Arrangements for the purchase of further Tickets will be advertised, in due course, and Tickets that have already been purchased will remain for valid, for the new Date

The last of the Chamber Concerts in the 2019-2020 Season, which had been scheduled for 11th May 2020, would have featured the Endellion Quartet, in their Farewell Season.  The holder of Ticket Number 9, for whom we have no contact details, is asked to contact the Treasurer, in order to receive a refund

The Family Concert that was held on 20th May 2018 and entitled The Enchanted Violin has been re-created and can be viewed here

Seaford Music Society reserves the right to change artists, programmes and venues, in circumstances that are beyond its control

The Corelli Ensemble is a group of Professional Musicians that holds further Chamber Concerts, in Seaford (and elsewhere).  Their next Concert (in Seaford) would have been held on 8th November 2020
