Dame Felicity Lott and Michael Andrew Wicks in Façade - An Entertainment, in which a series of Poems by Edith Sitwell are recited over an Instrumental Accompaniment by William Walton, scored for Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Cello and Percussion, with Alex Mackinder, Conductor, together with the World Première of Steps and Stops, a new commission by Jan Willem Nelleke

At short notice, Andrew Wicks will be replacing Michael Bulman, who is unfortunately indisposed

To bring its 2024-2025 Season of Concerts to a close, Seaford Music Society chose to present one of the great Literary and Musical works of the Twentieth Century, given its first public performance almost exactly one hundred years ago, with Edith Sitwell reciting her Poems and William Walton conducting the Accompaniment that he had scored for an unusual Ensemble of six Instruments. The Concert also featured the World Première of a new commission by Dutch Pianist and Composer, Jan Willem Nelleke, explicitly written for the same Instruments

Seaford Music Society had hoped to be able to welcome Dame Felicity Lott and Michael Bulman, as the two Narrators, but, sadly, both of them were indisposed. Michael Bulman was replaced by Andrew Wicks and, shortly before the Concert and after the Programme Notes had been printed, Dame Felicity Lott was replaced by Hilary Selby

There was an audience of one hundred and four people present
